Newsletter #22 - August 2004

Greetings to all you Dead But Dreaming fans! It's time for another update from the band!

First, a heartfelt thanks for all the support our fans have given us over the years, as well as thanks to the many bands who have helped us out along the way. We couldn't do this without you!

The band wants to thank everyone who attended the February 28th show at Tommy's in Seattle. This was the band's final show with guitarist Brett Shanley, and was a great send off. Thanks also go to our friends in Los Burbanks, a talented Seattle band and great bunch of guys.

The band has taken a few months off to find a new guitarist, but the wait has been a short one. After screening and auditioning a number of applicants, Dead But Dreaming is pleased to announce that Phil Felicia is now lead guitarist for Dead But Dreaming. Phil brings 20 years of playing experience to the table, perfectly blending fire and feel in equal portions. The band is extremely pleased with this decision, playing better than ever, and is looking forward to putting Phil out in front of the crowd.

With that said, DBD is happy to announce two new shows! First up is Thursday, August 12th at the Green Room of the Showbox. This 21+ show starts at 9pm, with Honeytongue and The Luna Moth joining DBD on stage. Don't miss the debut gig with guitarist Phil Felicia! Admission is $5, with a FREE "Mockingbird" CD to all who come to see Dead But Dreaming! The Showbox is at 1426 1st Ave in downtown Seattle. Directions are below or can be found on www.deadbutdreaming.com.

Next is the first annual Soul to da Sole music festival, happening Sunday, August 15th at South Lake Union Park in Seattle. Phil will open the show at 1:30 with a solo acoustic set, followed by Dead But Dreaming at 2pm. Other bands on the bill are Xanther, Fireside Syndicate and Goodie Bag. The band will have CDs, shirts, and other goodies available at the show. Admission is free, with a suggested donation. There will also be food available, and a beer garden. Don't miss this ALL AGES show! Directions are below or can be found on www.deadbutdreaming.com.

The band would also like to announce the tentative title for its upcoming full-length release. "Somnopolis," as it is currently known, is in the early writing stages and will include such popular crowd favorites as "Stand," "X or the Y," and "October Skies," as well as possibly a few oldies and definitely some new songs. Stay tuned for further information.
