Newsletter #21 - February 2004

Greetings to all you Dead But Dreaming fans! It's time for another update from the band!

First of all, belated thanks to everyone who attended the December 19th Mockingbird CD release party! Getting this EP released was long in coming, but the show was a tremendous success and the band is so happy to finally have released it. DBD wants to thank their good friends in Phokus for making it out and putting on such a great show as well.

Dead But Dreaming also rocked the house at The Central on December 21st, and played it's first show in Portland on January 23rd. Both shows were very successful and DBD wants to thank everyone who made it out. The band hopes to get more of a foothold in the Portland music scene in the future. The people were wonderful and truly into enjoying great music.

Next up, Dead But Dreaming takes the stage on Saturday, February 28th at Tommy's in Seattle! The band will be sharing the stage with friends Los Burbanks as well as The Orphan Project. The show starts at 9pm, with Dead But Dreaming hitting the stage first. It's a 21 and over venue, and there is a $5 cover at the door. Come on out and get your copy of the Mockingbird EP, a shirt, and a sticker! Tommy's Nightclub is at 4552 University Way in Seattle's U-District. Info about Tommy's such as directions, map and phone number can be found on www.deadbutdreaming.com. Directions are also below.

If you can't get to the show to grab a shirt, sticker, or the EP, then head on over to www.deadbutdreaming.com and visit our new store page. You'll get a free sticker and sampler with each order while supplies last! Also be sure to check out the photos section, as it has finally been updated to at least the recent past. :)

Lastly, some sad news: guitarist Brett Shanley, after a year and a half with Dead But Dreaming, has decided to depart from the band. He's been struggling to keep going since his wife moved to Michigan to go to graduate school some months back. It finally caught up with him, so to Michigan he goes to join her. The other band members sympathize and understand Brett's plight, and wish him well. The band is currently seeking a new lead guitarist and hope to get back out and doing shows again as soon as possible. In the meantime, be sure to make it to the show on Saturday, February 28th at Tommy's to say goodbye to Brett and catch what will be the last DBD show for probably a few months.

That's it for now from Dead But Dreaming! Don't forget to call Funky Monkey at 1-800-482-1049 or email them at requests@funkymonkey1049.fm to request the band's current single, "Beautiful Delusion." See you all at Tommy's on the 28th!
